A blog tracking my trial (and error) with using Google App Engine (GAE) as a platform for publishing results of scientific data. This blog assumes that you know a little bit about Python as a language and have at least gone through the Getting Started Guide provided by Google’s site (which will in turn show you how to register an account, set up your development environment, and walk you through the “Hello World!” example.)
Join me on my journey as I catalog the trails, tribulations and (hopefully) victories I have an will continue to face utilizing this unique platform.
About Me
Oh, and “me” == Angel Pizarro. A lab-klutz who was turned to bioinformatics by the late Dr. Chris Overton, a pioneer in the field. My current interests lie in Web application design and implementation, as it relates to scientific disciplines, such as proteomics, high-throughput screens and high-content imaging. Currently I lead a small bioinformatics group at The Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
